Contributions are included from several world authorities including new information concerning genetic diversity in eel populations and the consequences for their management.

Written by Friedrich-Wilhelm Tesch, one of the foremost world authorities on eels and carefully edited by Professor Thorpe, well known for his work in fish biology, writing and editing, The Eel is an essential purchase for all those working with the species, including fish biologists, physiologists and ecologists, aquatic and environmental scientists, fisheries managers and fish farm personnel.
